FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Free Keywords Research really free?+

Yes. Every scan is free to run, with no sign-up wall in front of your first result and no per-seat pricing.

Where do the search volume numbers come from?+

Volume bands are modeled estimates, built from a blend of public keyword-demand signals rather than pulled from any single verified source. They're designed to show relative demand — think of them as a ranking tool, not an exact count.

What does the Competition score mean?+

Competition estimates how hard a keyword is to rank for by modeling result-page density and how commercial the topic looks. Very Low means an open field; Very High means established sites likely already dominate the results.

What's the difference between Volume and Quality?+

Volume estimates roughly how often a term is searched. Quality is our own 0–100 opportunity score that blends estimated volume, competition, and intent, so sorting by Quality surfaces keywords worth targeting, not just popular ones.

How accurate are the estimates?+

They're directional estimates meant to help you prioritize a long keyword list quickly, not exact, guaranteed figures. Use them to compare keywords against each other rather than as absolute numbers you'd report externally.

Can I use this for content briefs and topic clusters?+

Yes. Run a seed keyword, sort by Quality or Intent, then click any row to open the keyword intel drawer for question variants, buying-intent phrasing, and long-tail expansions you can hand straight to a writer.

Do you store the keywords I search?+

Scans are saved so you can pick up where you left off and load more results for the same seed keyword later. We don't sell or share your search history.
